Digvijay Singh, AICC general secretary will be on a three-day visit starting from Jan 20 to meet congress leader of both AP and Telangana separately to gather inputs on how to strengthen the party. On January 20, after meeting with telangana leaders he will meet AP leaders at Tirupati.
Rahul Gandhi has finalized a strategy on revitalizing the congress he has sent all units across the country for their views.
Senior leaders have been dividing into eight groups of 16 members. On January 22, Mr Singh will meet intellectuals and other personalities from different sections of the society to know their views and suggestions on how to strengthen the Congress. In specific, discussions will be held on organizational and structural changes, party discipline, media relations, need for alliances with likeminded parties etc.
Shabbir Ali said that tremendous response for the ongoing party membership drive, the target has now been increased to 35 lakh from 20 lakh.
Congress workers would be briefed on how the party, during its rule from 2004 to 2014, has developed GHMC into a ‘Must See Destination’ of the world he said.
He added, by spending over Rs 1 lakh crore to build infrastructure like Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, 11-km PVNR Express Way and 160-km long Nehru ORR the Congress regime proved to be a golden decade for the GHMC.
