“TRS leader KCR is nothing but an opportunist politician,” cautioned congress MP Vivek. “He has been a turncoat, deserter throughout Telangana movement, even now, he is looking to amass the power and wealth of Telangana entirely for his family, right from 2004, his eye has been on benefiting from Telangana movement, rather than achieving Telangana state,” said Congress Peddapalli Lok Sabha candidate Vivek.
“TRS ran behind Congress in 2004, they were after my father Sri Venkataswami requesting him to set up the tie up, but the party’s electoral results kept on going down after 2004, hence KCR used all tactics to delay Telangana. TRS leaders personally assured me about merger with Congress, but he went back on his word easily as he is so used to such backtracking in the past also.
Sonia Gandhi took serious risks for getting the Telangana bill passed, even KCR admitted Sonia’s active participation on number of occasions, with the public and also with us in personal discussions, despite Lagadapati’s pepper spray incident, Sonia saw to it that the Bill passes through Lok Sabha, she had two days discussion with the PM before the Bill went to Rajyasabha, finally the state dream is realised, all the credit goes to Sonia, even I felt that the Congress has kept it’s word on Telangana properly, hence i felt that it is my responsibility to keep my word and came back to Congress, the Telangana public knows this clearly, now it is the duty of the public to support Congress properly, this is the only way they can thank Congress…” said Vivek during the Congress MPs press meet in Hyderabad.
