The Telangana Government is now planning to change the Eamcet model as Tamil Nadu model. For local college admissions all the other states are joining to conduct the Joint Entrance Exam. This year for local college entrance the following states like Gujarat, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Uttarakhand, Nagaland and Odisha will write only the JEE (Main).
JEE (Main) is a good platform to identify talent which is the primary motive of an entrance test says experts. Large segment of students are even attempting JEE (Main) along with Eamcet in a bid to get into the NITs and IITs.
Writing only one entrance for the admission to any college will hugely reduce the pressure on the students.
As 40% weight age to local boards in CBSC due to that issue students still remains a tricky. And with the limited number of ranks that CBSE allots finally in the JEE (Main), the state might also be worried about many students being omitted, and finally lot of these local seats will be left vacant.
