Over Fee Reimbursement Scheme Opposition Staged a Walk-Out of Telangana Assembly

Congress-and-BJPToday on the issues of tuition fee reimbursement scheme and quality of education in engineering colleges the opposition Congress and BJP staged a walk-out of Telangana Assembly.

During an extensive discussion, T Jeevan Reddy the Congress MLA, MLA G Kishan Reddy and K Laxman the BJP floor leader alleged that the fee reimbursement scheme which had benefited thousands of poor students in erstwhile Andhra Pradesh the TRS government was watering down this scheme.
K Srihari the Deputy Chief Minister strongly denied any watering down of the reimbursement scheme. He said that this year 16 lakh students had benefited from it.

The deputy CM added the government was trying to ensure that standards in private engineering colleges did not fall.

Akbaruddin Owaisi the MIM floor leader, who observes that it is not easy to run a college, suggested that the government hold a meeting with the managements of private engineering colleges to address the issue.
