MIM leader and MP Asaduddin Owaisi has visited Charlapalli jail in the city outskirts to express solidarity with the students who have been remanded after the incidents at University of Hyderabad. Owaisi has enquired what transpired in the past few days, the police ‘treatment’ and the attitude of the university authorities. He lambasted the decisions of the Vice chancellor who barred outsiders and even MPs to visit the campus. “Why are we denied entry? We condemn this. They are not anti-social elements” he said outside the jail. He demanded the recall of the Vice Chancellor P Appa Rao.
TPCC President Uttam Kumar Reddy has also visited the jail and enquired about the well-being. He demanded students should be released immediately without any case or conditions. “They have every democratic right to express their feelings and their anger against the VC” he said.
