Pak bows out of T-20 World Cup

Pak-bows-out-of-T-20-World-Pakistan has bowed out of Twenty-20 World cup after suffering a 21-run defeat at the hands of Australia in Mohali today. This was Pak’s third consecutive defeat in the tourney.

Electing to bat first after winning the toss, Aussies scored 193/4 in the stipulated 20 overs, thanks to some breezy knocks from Steve Smith (61) and Shane Watson (44). Chasing a rather tough target, Pakistan could score only 172/8 although Latif (46), Shoib Malik (40) and Sharjeel Khan (30) scored well with the bat. Umer Akmal and Shahid Afridi, who were slowly getting their act together at a crucial time but were out in quick succession, sealing the Pakistan fate.

Austrialia is now at number 2 in Group II, keeping its chances of entering semi-final live.
