Pakistan start batting against a huge target in Asia Cup opener

The Asia Cup opener is underway in Fatullah today. Choosing to bat first, Sri Lanka have managed a challenging score of 296 in the allotted 50 overs for the loss of 6 wickets. After a fine knock by opener Thirimane, 102 from 110 balls, 67 by Sangakkara from 65 balls, Lanka looked well on way to put up a huge target to Pakistan. But some good catches and fine bowling after the batting power play overs by Paki pacers, Lanka closed play at 296. Anjelo Mathews blistering 55 out of 50 balls hugely helped Lanka towards the end of their innings. Umar Gul and Shahid Afridi took two  wickets each for Pakistan.

Pakistan has so far started slow in their batting reply after just starting their innings. Presently they are at 7 runs without loosing a wicket after 3 overs
