Popular gazal singer pandit Vittal Rao breathed his last today. He was one among the awardees announced by the TS government on June 2. He was suffering from Alzheimer’s disease and was admitted to the Gandhi hospital in Secunderabad and died while receiving the treatment. Last month he was on a tour to Shirdi. Rao fell down unconscious four days back in Punjagutta and locals got him admitted to the hospital. He sang gazals in Hindi, Urdu, Prussian and Sanskrit. Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao condoled the death of the singer.
