After unveiling his political ambitions at a public meet on Thursday, film star and President of Jana Sena Party Pawan Kalyan said he may go on a padayatra in Anantapur to create awareness in public over drought conditions that have become bane for the district for decades.
Interacting with students and villagers in Anantapuram today, he said- it was people who should have the determination to fight drought. He criticized the governments for “doing practically nothing to find out a solution to the problem. Nothing is impossible if a sincere effort is made. Not just a village, I would like to adopt the entire district. I will go on a padayatra if necessary” The mercurial actor, who announced that he would contest 2019 Assembly polls, has dropped ample indications that he may enter poll fray from Ananthapuram itself.
Pawan Kalyan has also stated that a debate should take place in public fora and also in Parliament on caste-based reservations. Yes, I know many brilliant students have lost opportunities due to a faulty social system. This should change. Political parties which say all castes are equal in politics during poll time, should make their stand clear, he felt.
Taking a dig at political class, Pawan Kalyan said a young girl has to lose her life for Nirbhaya Act.
