The Cine star and leader of Janasena said that he was deeply pained over the violent incidents at Tuni on Sunday during the rail, road roko agitation by the Kapus, demanding inclusion of their caste in the BCs. However he said that he would not fight for any caste but for the people in general. He said that he believed in peaceful agitations only. He reminded that the Kapu problem did not spring up overnight. He said the Puttuswamy Commission on the issue appointed decades ago had not submitted its recommendations till now. He said the Kapus were included in BCs in Telangana. Dwelling over the burning of the bogies of Rathnachal Express train, he said that a flick of the match stick would not burn a train compartment. The burning was pre planned and the Kapu activists might not have done it. The leaders of the movement also should not have delivered provocative speeches.
They should have exercised restrained.’The TDP said that it was committed to provide BC reservation to Kapus and in case it could not keep up its word, it should explain,’he felt. He further said that there was caste discrimination in universities, but he did not want to politicalise the UoH scholar Rohit’s suicide.
