Performed Panchasahasra Deepalankarana at Dhramapuri

DeepalankaranaOn the occassion of Karthika Pournami on Thursday as a part of Panchasahasra Deepotsavam in Karimnagar district the
Dharmapuri temple was illuminate with diyas. A unique tradition of lighting 5000 diyas on the steps of the holy pond of Sr Laxminarasimha Swamy temple took place on Thursday. Devotees from Karimnagar and neighboring states Maharashtra, TN were over 50,000 in number.
It is believed according to the Hindu mythology goddess Lakshmi and moon god were born skimming ‘pala samudram’ on this occassion of Karthika Pounami. Temples were filled with the chanting of ‘Om Namah Sivaaya’, ‘hara Hara Mahadeva’, ‘Govinda Govinda.
