PHFI Southern Campus Foundation laid by KCR

PHFI-Southern-Campus-FoundaOn Tuesday, K. Chandrasekhar Rao the Telangana Chief Minister laid the foundation stone for the southern regional campus of Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI). PHFI is a public-private organization which works for the betterment of the public health system.
The CM of the state announced an immediate help of Rs. 10 crores from the state government for the construction of the building. He also assured that the government will bear 50% of the expenses which is estimated to be 60 crores for PHFI which is setting up at Rajendranagar which lies on the outskirts of the city.
KCR who is popularly known as Rao also said that the government will also look to give PHFI, a university status. He said that despite sepnding Rs. 5,000 crores every year on health services the conditions were still not satisfactory. He hoped that PHFI will play an important role in the betterment of health services.
He also emphaised that the government doctors who are working in urban and rural areas must be given management training. He also indirectly talked about those who are criticizing his decision of moving the government aided Chest Hospital at Erragadda to Vikarabad which lies in the Ranga Reddy district. His decision is also criticized by the opposite party.
N.R. Narayana Murthy, Chairman, Leadership Council, PHFI and founder, Infosys, said that PHFI’s main motive is to work for strengthening education, training, research and promote public health.
