Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be live on this Teachers’ Day on September 5, when he will be spending an hour and 45 minutes with nearly 1,000 school children in Delhi. Schools, both government and private, and adult education centres across the nation will watch and listen to the PM on TV, radio and the Internet.
An extraordinary exercise has been started by the Ministry of Human Resources; ensuring students are able to watch PM’s Teachers’ Day meeting. The Secretary for Secondary Education in the HRD Ministry, Rajarshi Bhattacharya has asked every officer of the rank of Joint Secretary and Director to liaise with officials of 2-3 states each.
Jan Shikshan Sansthan, panchayat ghar, adult and informal education centre, and State Resource Centre along with 14.5 Lakh government schools and 4 Lakh private schools across the length and breadth of the nation would see and hear the PM’s interaction with the schoolchildren.
A senior ministry official said, “Where there are no television sets, we have asked to hire TV sets, and where there is no possibility of electricity, we have asked to arrange generators for that day”.
