The Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid rich tributes to the soldiers who laid down their lives at the Amar Jawan Jyothi. He placed a wreath in memory of the martyrs. The defense minister Manohar Parikar, the chiefs of the three forces also participated. Three tier security was arranged on the eve of the Republic day. Flying aircraft are banned temporarily.
Earlier, the prime minister greeted the public on the 67th Republic day. He tweeted that the nation owes its gratitude to the architects of the Constitution. He said that he salutes to the memory of Dr. Ambedkar who was the chairman of the drafting committee of the Constitution.
