PM’s mother exchanges her old currency

modi-mteherIn a public display of solidarity to her son’s move on demonitisation, Prime Minister’s Narendra Modi’s 94-year-old mother Hira Ben drove to a bank to exchange her old bigger notes of Rs 500/ and Rs 1000/ those at her end.

She lined up briefly at the Oriental Bank of Commerce in the outskirts of Ahmedabad and got her currency exchanged. The officials immediately handed over the new Rs 2000/ notes. She later has shown the new notes to waiting journalists.

This is a Modi-mark gimmick, opposition pooh-poohed. ‘Did she ever go to a bank in the past 25-30 years? Why now? It’s all to tell the people by Mr Modi that ‘see even my mother of 94-years-of age stands in a queue, why not you, when she supports what happened to the opposition..’ it said.
