Officials of the engineering colleges are cracking the whip on erring engineering colleges. Nearly 16 colleges in outskirts of Hyderabad were undergoing raiding by the police on Thursday for allegedly resorting to fraudulent methods to garner affiliation.
Among them 174 are not given prior for eamcet counselling.According to the supreme court directions ,the team from different institutions like BITS-Pilani Hyderabad, IIT-Hyderabad,Osmania University and other institutions checked for the compliance for the norms.
Registrar official of JNTU Prof.N.V.Ramana Rao filed a complaint against them. So the police conducted raids on thrusday.
Prof Rao said “ The standing committee on affiliation found that the same faculty is employed in more than on institution .This manipulation was done deliberately with an intention to secure compliance of AICTE norms and get affiliation for the purpose of claiming fee reimbursement”.
He also stated some of the colleges like Princeton, Siddhartha, Krishna Murthy institutes of technology.JNTU officials also named a middleman, one naveen, who supplied staff to colleges during inspections.
This report will be finalized in a week and the official of Jntu Sahilaja Ramaiyer will submitted it to the Govt as ways if the colleges think that they were threatening.
BUT “The government owes money for fee reimbursement .if we ask them for it, they use these tactics and frame us so we will keep quiet”, one of owner of the college said.
