Cops still go clueless on what led to the untimely death of Malayalam film actor Kalabhavan Mani as post mortem is now going on at government medical college, Thrissur. Kerala Police have registered a case of “unnatural death” after traces of methyl alcohol were found in his body. Mani, 45, died in a private hospital in Kochi on Sunday evening.
The funeral will be held this evening.
A chronic liver and kidney patient, Mani was admitted to Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences in Kochi on Saturday. He was found unconscious at an outhouse in his farm at Chalakkudy in Thrissur after having dinner with three of his friends.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi condoled his death and in a message said a promising career was cut short abruptly. Film fraternity have expressed dismay over his sudden demise.
