Power woes will go: KCR

KCR_AFP1TS government has asked the Centre for release of Rs 1,800 crore to supply quality power to urban areas but the Delhi has decided to provide Rs 700 crore under integrated power distribution system and it may release another Rs 4,000 crore. Under National Power Mission another Rs 1,000 crore is likely to be released to the State, according to officers. Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is planning to put an end to power woes in the State as also to provide LED bulbs plus 9-hour power supply in villages once Central funds are in hand. Centre has also agreed to release Rs 3,000 crore under the Deenadayal Grama Jyothi as against a plea for Rs 5,600 crore. The Central Steering Committee is expected to take a final decision by August for release of funds.
