Pranab’s Tour to Vietnam Successfully Completed


After inking many key pacts and declaring a united Indo-Vietnam stand for free navigation in the disputed waters of South China Sea and adjoining maritime areas, the Indian President Pranab Mukerjee wrapped up his four-day official tour to Vietnam on Wednesday.

Vice Chairman of People’s Committee of Vietnam Tat Thanh Cang and Ambassador of Vietnam to India Nguyen Thanh Tan were present to see off Mukerjee.

Pranab Mukerjee visited the iconic ‘Cu Chi Tunnels’ which are one of the most visible and historical vestiges of Vietnam’s national liberation war, on the last day of his tour.

President held talks with top officials and leaders of Vietnam during his visit. He met the Vietnamese President, Prime Minister, General Secretary of the Communist Party Secretary of the Party Committee on his tour.

The two nations sealed many pacts including the crucial and strategic sectors of defence procurement, oil exploration and air connectivity
