The CBI director Ranjit Sinha on Monday announced that he will file a perjury case against ace lawyer and Aam Aadmi Party leader Prashant Bhushan as all the allegations made by him had fallen flat in the income tax probe. Prashant Bhushan had accused Ranjit Sinha of speaking to Moin Qureshi , a controversial meat exporter. Bhushan alleged that Mr. Sinha met Qureshi for about 90 times in the span of 15 months, and in every meeting Qureshi played the role of mouthpiece to the coal scamsters to shut the cases opened by CBI.
Ranjit Sinha told that he will file the suit next week. “I decided to approach the Supreme Court. I am not important, my organisation is. I am grateful to the apex court for restoring the dignity of the premier probe agency”, said Ranjit Sinha.
He added, “It’s not a question of Ranjit Sinha but the honour and dignity of the post of the CBI Director”.
