President’s rule in Maharashtra

shThree days after Sharad Pawar’s party officially removed support from the Congress-led Maharashtra government, the President’s rule has been imposed in the state.

CM Prithviraj Chavan had resigned on Friday.

The state is going for assembly poll on October 15 along with Haryana.

In the absence of Prime Minister Narendra Mode, Rajnath Singh headed the Cabinet Meeting in New Delhi which approved the President’s rule in the state. The President’s rule has been imposed with immediate effect on Sunday.

The 15-year old friend, Congress and NCP broke their knot on Friday as they could not come on a mutual conclusion on the seat sharing for the upcoming elections.

Similarly, 25 years old friends Shiv Sena and BJP also closed their alliance. Now, the state election is a 5-way affair. Raj Thackeray of MNS is the other competitor in the state.
