Press Council of India Slams KCR on Speaking Against Journalists


The Press Council of India has directed the Chief Minister K Chandrasekhrar Rao to stop making provocative comments against the journalists and the media. The three-member committee constituted by the PCI has concluded that the CM of Telangana would be directed to restrain himself from speaking against media.

Earlier, KCR has allegedly threatened the journalists and made two TV news channels vanished from Telangana.

The committee that included Rajeev Ranjan Nag, K Amarnath and Krishna Prasad said in the report, “The CM of Telangana should be directed to restrain himself from making provocative statements against journalists or…supporting organizations which seek to limit the flow of information to the people, on the basis of nativity or domicile status.”

“Blatant threats to the media and media personnel violate the oath of office he took to protect and defend the Constitution of India and follow the rule of law”, added the panel in report.
