Procurement of New Ambulance by EMRI Scheme

Hyderabad: The Health Minister Lakshma Reddy has informed the Telangana Legislative Council about the increase of ambulances from 337 to 506.The MLC Mohammed Ali Shabbir replied to the congress about the procurement of 169 new ambulances for the population of 75,000.The 108 ambulance services were not functioning properly at present due to non-release of funds by the government.
Ali pointed out that on nov 28, 2014 government issued GO Ms No 38 to switch over from the present EMRI scheme to National Ambulance Service scheme duly adopting uniform nomenclature. He said under the scheme duly adopting uniform nomenclature. They provide 25 percent of operation cost and replacement of vehicles under National Health Mission. They know the details of funds received from the centre so far and wheather the ambulance service were being run in the state.
