‘Public funds safe thro’ Aadhar’

download (2)TS government has decided to request the supreme court for making Aadhar card compulsory in an effort to stop misuse of public funds and put forth arguments in support of the card as the process of issue has been completed. Earlier, the apex court passed interim orders stating that Aadhar was not mandatory to possess. Government wants to inform the court that with Aadhar it is easy to identify eligible people for claiming scholarships, pensions and for other welfare schemes as also to put an end to various irregularities. Furnishing false information and under fake names people swallowed funds under Indiramma housing and even in loan-waiver cases, which would be brought before the court. Further, government will also inform the court that genuine beneficiaries will be benefited with Aadhar cards.
