Quake hits Pak, 100 dead, 200 hurt

Tremors were felt for a minute in north India as an earthquake with a
magnitude of 7.7 on the Richter Scale occurred with its epicenter in
Hindukush mountains 265 km from Kabul, capital of Afghanistan. In both
Pakistan & Afghanisthan more than 100 people died while 150 were injured,
according to reports. The intensity was felt in J and K,
Delhi, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh. Metro services in Delhi was
disrupted and people ran out from homes and offices in panic
Chandigarh. As a precautionary measure buses were stopped in some
areas. In Srinagar telephone and power services were disrupted and
communication system failed. Under its impact buildings in Afganistan
and Pakistan came down crashing.
