According to reports, five officers are said to be in the race viz Pradip Chandra, MG Gopal, SP Singh, SK Joshi and Vinay Kumar, who is in central service.
Pradip Chandra of 1982 batch is now industries secretary and also senior most among all. But if he is selected he will be there in the post for just one month. Even MG Gopal , who hails from Telangana region and is key man in advising Chief Minister KCR on matters relating to endowments and temple-related matters, will not have much time to continue as he will also demit office in February next on completion of service. SP Singh, who is overseeing the CM’s pet scheme Mission Bhagiratha and SK Joshi, a key man in irrigation front will throw a strong case. Vinay till now not expressed his willingness to return to the state service, is unlikely to be approached by the government on its own, sources said.
With the reorganization of districts and also many key issues such as shifting of Secretariat, construction of new Assembly, camp office, important government programmes such as 2BHK housing, Mission Bhagiratha, Mission Kakatiya etc are to be closely monitored, the new Chief Secretary will have a challenging time ahead, and, keeping all these issues concerned, KCR may study and take a call, sources revealed.
