On Sunday in Hyderabad R.K. Pachuri who is a eminent environmentalist said that on January 12 a meeting will be held to discuss about the climate change and increase in production of solar power in the country.
Mr. Pachuri wants India to target for producing 1 lakh MW of solar power which would be achieved in the next ten years and catapult India to world leader position.
A shift in policy formulation in Solar Energy Mission apart from getting rid of subsidies on some fossil fuel resources. The setting up of the campus would benefit Telangana state as the research and development that will be carried out in the university would be helpful to the new state said to media after a function to lay the foundation stone of Hyderabad campus of TERI on the outskirts of the city.
India should adopt renewable energy technology which would be low in carbon emission to reduce global warming, he said.
