Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) leader S Ramadoss said that, “When the schools reopened after the first term vacations on October 8, the education department distributed notebooks and diaries to school children with pictures of scam-tainted Jayalalithaa. This will poison the minds of young ones”.
Ramadoss added that, “Officials say the pictures on the notebooks were printed before Jayalalithaa was imprisoned. However, in 2011, after a legal battle over the implementation of the uniform syllabus, the Jayalalithaa government removed the pictures of DMK chief M Karunanidhi from textbooks, even though it had lost the case in the Supreme Court. It also removed a reference to a Tamil meet and the title song of the meet from the textbooks”.
He also said that, “The Tamil Nadu assembly website has Jayalalithaa’s picture on its homepage and another picture of her taking oath as an MLA. If you click on the link to the Srirangam constituency, you will see her profile even though she is no more an MLA. The judgment of the special court in Bangalore is available on several websites, but the assembly secretary says he hasn’t got a copy of the judgment. This is an attempt to cheat the people”.
He demanded the government to remove Jayalalithaa’s pictures from the websites, offices and notebooks.
