Actor Ranbir Kapoor expressed his opinion on the sidelines of Indian Super League (ISL), an upcoming football event in the lines of Indian Premiere League, that the involvement of celebrities in sports in the country is beneficiary.
Ranbir Kapoor is one of the stake holders in Mumbai City Football Club (FC) franchise of the Indian Super League (ISL).
The other stars like John Abraham and Abhishek Bachchan co-owns the team.
Salman Khan is the co-owner of Pune team while Varun Dhawan is endorsing Goa team in the star football event.
“It’s a great thing, and every sport should be encouraged in the country. Cricket is our first love, but that doesn’t mean we should not give kabaddi or football a platform,” says Ranbir.
He continued, “More than anything, you are giving opportunities to the youth to become a football player or kabaddi player and not necessarily a cricketer”.
The tournament begins on Oct 12 and will be played in eight Indian cities tillDecember 20.
