Hyderabad: The solutions for e-waste disposal, swachh mela showcases has been shown a solution. Nearly 100 tonne of e-waste is being collected every month and they are trying to explain about the recycling and proper disposal of electronic waste in the city.
“Tonnes of e-waste is generated in Hyderabad every month, however not many know that quite a significant amount of e-waste can be recycled and reused”, said by B.Sandya Sravanthi of foundation for development which specializes in recycling e-waste.
The Swachh Mela to create awareness about the issue and encouraged people to sign up for disposing e-waste at their homes.
The eco-friendly things like managing menstruation,etc and sanitary napkins available in the market are made of petroleum by products and takes nearly 500-800 years to decompose and the women who uses such pads dispose around 130 kg of waste in her life time and 2 lakh tone of sanitary waste accumulated every year.
Ms Mahalakshmi, who is Hyderabad ambassador of Eco Femme said “Cloth napkins far more hygienic and healthy than the chemical based one. The cloth pads are not only eco-friendly but also low-cost as one pad lasts up to two-to-three years.
