Redesign every project : CM

16-1434451800-telangana-cm-kcr-meet-669Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao told officers to redesign every irrigation project right from Tummadihatti to Dummugudem in Khammam district in order to fully utilize the waters of Godavari river. In the united AP State designs of all projects were limited to papers and he requested experts to prepare new designs suitable to reservoirs and considering geographic situation, water allotments and requirements in the State. While reviewing the situation at his camp office along with the Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao, advisor Vidyasagar Rao and irrigation officers, he concentrated on the system to be adopted for optimum use of Godavari waters. The target would be to supply water to 50 lakh acres at the rate of one lakh for each constituency. There are 50 constituencies in the vicinity of Godavari. Nearly 10 lakh acres under SRSC, Nizamsagar, Kadem projects get water as of now, he said. Projects should be so designed as to supply 400 tmc water to the remaining 40 lakh acres, cm asserted. Further, KCR informed that 400 tmc water is allocated to Pranahita-Chevella, Devadula, Kuntanapally, Yellampally and Dummugudem projects.
