On Monday in Warangal, members of Telangana State United Electricity Employees Union affiliated to Centre of Indian Trade Unions for the regularization of the services of contract workers. For this they come on the streets took out a massive rally.
Employees from Karimnagar, Warangal, Nizamabad, Khammam and Adilabad have participated in the rally. A rally started from Ekasila Park to corporate office of the Telangana State Northern Power Distribution Company at Nakkalagutta in Hanamkonda. They staged a demonstration by raising slogans in support of their demands.
They submitted a memorandum to K Venkata Narayana the chairman and managing directorof TSNPDCL.
While talking on the occasion, state general secretary N Venkateswarlu, union working president Royyala Raju, vice president R Ramesh and others said that they have been demanding equal pay for equal work for all the employees. They also alleged that nearly, 2,600 employees are working in TSGenco, TSTransco and Discoms. They were being paid meager salaries by the contractors who were deducting some part of the wages earned by the employees, besides exploiting them.
K Chandrasekhar Rao the TS CM promised to regularize services of contract employees. The leaders also wanted payment of wages directly by the government and scrapping of outsourcing method. The union leaders M Prabhakar, Gajjela Kumar and others were present.
