70a068fc92c922a6d097ad55e2e10273More than Gurajada Appa Rao and his creative genius, his master piece literary work ‘Kanya Shulkam’ grew up as the most popular in the
erstwhile Telugu State. The book earned him undying renown as it was
not missed by any Telugu reader and others as it was translated in other languages also for its logical haracters and script. Telugus pay tributes on his birthday today as also to recall his patriotic poem ‘deshamunu preminchumanna’ in no unequivocal terms. Born in Rayavaram in Visakhapatnam district he served as lecturer in Maharaja college, later as clerk in maharaja’s dewan. Rao also attempted to find solutions to women’s problems in the contemporary society. He
died at 53.
