On Saturday, The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation enforcement wing staff number of flexies, banners and posters of politicians that dotted the Rashtrapati Road in Secunderabad were removed in a cleanup drive.
Followers of T. Srinivas Yadav newly inducted commercial taxes minister, prohibition and excise minister T. Padma Rao and others had put up flexies, posters and banners lug Mr Srinivas Yadav for being inducted into the ministry along with New Year and Pongal greetings on the busy Kingsway, Ghasmandi Cross Roads and Audiahnagar.
Earlier it had advertised a report about the eyesore created by the flexi war between supporters of the two ministers, which led to the entire stretch of the road and bystreets being festoon with pink flexies, banners and posters.
While the GHMC staff removed political banners and posters, they did not touch the green flags.
An official of the enforcement wing of GHMC Babu said “We have removed over 100 banners and posters on RP Road. The cleanup drive will continue.”
Recently the TS and AP govts to take steps to remove unauthorised flexies, cut-outs and statues of political leaders and celebrities in the two states directed by Hyderabad HC.
