Jay Leno, the host of “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” on NBC, bid adieu to the show after 22 years. Jack Black, Kim Kardashian were among his last guests on Friday apart from several celebrities including Obama wishing him luck and happiness.
Leno had the longest running show after Johnny Carson’s 30 year stint on the show. Leno was briefly absent in 2009, but came back after public demand. Jimmy Fallon will take over the slot, the show to restart later this February.
Leno is reported to go back to being a stand-up comedian with a tour planned between March and November. Leno cried during the last show, said that he considers the crew of the show his only family, he reminded all that he lost his mother, father and brother consecutively just after he started on the show. Leno’s goodbye had 14.6 million viewers clocked.
