In a huge relief to YSRC MLA RK Roja, the Hyderabad High Court has struck down the AP Assembly decision of suspending her for one year. In an interim order, the High Court has lifted the suspension on her today. The case was posted for further hearing after four weeks. This paves the way for Roja to attend the on-going budget session itself.
Justice Ramlingeswara Rao has given the interim order.
Roja, the firebrand MLA, has been suspended for her ‘unruly behaviour which is against the norms of the legislature’. She knocked the doors of HC first challenging the resolution of the Assembly and the decision of the Speaker. She contended that the Speaker cannot suspend her for a full year but can do only for a single session. She had to approach the apex court as the High Court has refused to hear the case initially. The Supreme Court has directed the High Court to dispose the case in one day. The court, has found valid reason in the arguments of Roja and accordingly lifted the suspension.
