The leaders and activists of Telangana Praja Front on Monday demanded immediate support for the farmers. The demonstration was at the Collectorate in Hanamkonda on Monday. They also added that programs should be launched for the farmers who are distressed by crop loss, power shortage and debts. A rally was organized for same.
TPF district president B Rama Devi said that the farmers were expecting that their problems would end in Telangana but sadly they were being neglected. This was the result of death of 320 farmers. It is estimated that 25000 farmers ended their life in past two decades. It shows the indifferent attitude of the government towards the prevailing problems. The government must understand the situation and take necessary measures for the crop loss and burden of debts. Telangana Rythanga Samithi leader M Narsimha Reddy addressed that the state and the central governments who welcome the industrialists and provide sops are turning blind eyed to the distressed farmers. The leader wanted Rs.10 lakh given to the family members of each farmer as a compensation who commited suicide recently. They wanted the government to address the crisis seriously and work on it.
