Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, who participated in the land pattas distribution at Malkajgiri today informed that government will allot pattas to 25,000 poor people in the State as per regularisation under GO 58. Speaking on the occasion he said that he was jubilant as was in a position to do a good job. His government was working to solve 100 percent of the problems of the poor
Under GHMC limits alone pattas would be given to one lakh poor people, he informed. The land was valued at Rs 10,000 crore. Over 2.5 lakhs poor are living in slums and huts in the twin cities and his government is giving government land to them, he said. Nearly 3.36 lakh applications were received under GO 58 and two lakhs applications are still in pending, he said. Cases are in court in respect of some lands and once they are cleared others will also be allotted land, the cm assured. He also assured that in two years double bed rooms would be built for poor. He lamented that earlier governments allocated thousands of acres to race clubs and now there is no land for poor.
