Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao ordered officials to advance the water grid project work. The 75.000 kilometre water-grid would begin working in January 2015 with an aim to provide tap water to all the household of Telangana.
KCR himself will lay the foundation of the project in Nalgonda in December this year. In a meeting held with the senior officials and Ministers K Taraka Rama Rao and T Harish Rao, KCR delivered his concern over the issue of fluoride in water in several parts of the state since a long time.
The plan under the project is to construct 24 grids in 10 districts to provide safe drinking water to every household within five years with an expenditure of Rs. 25,000 Crore.
Water Grid Development Corporation of Telangana would be set up within week, an authoritative body to execute and monitor the project.
