Following the long time demand, the State Government of Telangana announced to hike the salary of the home guards in the state by Rs. 3,000. The home guards will receive Rs. 12,000 a month from April 2015. The current honorarium is Rs. 9,000 per month which will be continued till March as there was no scope for the increment in this year’s budget.
Announcing the hike, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao said that along with the hike, the home guards will also receive medical insurance, two pairs of uniforms every year and a hike in the parade allowance from Rs. 28 to Rs. 100. The home guards in Hyderabad and Cyberabad commissionerates will also get bus pass.
The decision was made in the presence of Director General of Police Anurag Sharma, Principal Finance Secretary V. Nagi Reddy and Inspector General of Police (Intelligence) B. Sashidhar Reddy.
