Rs. 4-Lakh Crore required to build new capital: AP Report

Untitled-1The state government sought Rs. 1,00,213 Crore from the central government to build new capital city. The essential infrastructure and amenities are other than the said amount.

In its report sent to the Planning Commission and the 14th Finance Commission, the government of Andhra Pradesh mentioned that at least Rs. 4 Lakh Crore would be required to build the new capital city in Andhra Pradesh.

“Our major concern now is to immediately develop our capital city so that we can achieve a smooth transfer of the administrative and legislative functions from Hyderabad to the new location as expeditiously as possible”, says the report.

The report also mentions that Hyderabad was developed on the expense of the development of other areas of Andhra and Rayalaseema regions.
