Rs 700 cr for tourism circuits

banner-indiaThe Ministry of Tourism has launched Swadesh Darshan for Integrated Development of Tourist Circuits around Specific Themes and National Mission on Pilgrimage Rejuvenation and Spiritual Augmentation Drive to beautify and improve the amenities and infrastructure at pilgrim centres of all faiths. A budget provision of Rs.600 crore and Rs.100 crore is available for 2015-16. Under Swadesh Darshan, Krishna circuit, north east circuit, Buddhist circuit, Himalayana circuit and coastal circuit have been identified for development. In the second scheme, Ajmer, Amritsar, Amravati, Dwarka, Gaya, Kedarnath, Kamakhaya, Kanchipuram, Mathura, Puri, Varanasi and Velankanni have been identified.
