In the recent devastating floods in Kashmir Division, the Jammu and Kashmir government has approved Rs 71 crore for cases pertaining to total collapse of houses, and 80 percent of the amount has been disbursed to the affected families.
Divisional Commissioner of Kashmir informed in a high level review meeting chaired by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah. An official spokesman said that the meeting was held to take stock of relief and rehabilitation process underway for the flood affected people.
The assessment of losses should be made quickly said Omar. He directed deputy commissioners concerned to speed up the process by pressing into service more revenue teams.
