Sachin Tendulkar will team up with Brian Lara, Rahul Dravid, Brett Lee, Shaun Tait, Saeed Ajmal and others will represent the Merylbone Cricket Club and will meet Shane Warne, Muttaiah Muralitharan, Adam Gilchrist, Virender Sehwag, Kevin Peiterson, Yuvraj Singh and others representing the Rest of the World in the MCC bicentenary benefit match to happen on 5th July at the MCC, London.
The clash of the titans will see few memorable pairings and oppositions the cricket ground has ever seen. Tendulkar has already recalled the 1994 Sky Dome match in Toronto where he played beside Lara and has said that he is sure that their pairing will be good this time too. “Lord’s always holds a very special place in any cricketer’s heart, and I am very much looking forward to helping celebrate its Bicentenary with MCC,” Lara said in a statement.
Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC), founded in 1787, moved to its present site in the north-west London suburb of St John’s Wood in 1814, with the ground then owned by Thomas Lord, on whom the ground is now named.
