Sachin Tendulkar’s request to leave for the rest of the session has been accepted by the Rajya Sabha Chairman Hamid Ansari today. The master-blaster of cricket sought the leave citing professional and personal reasons. He, along with Rekha, has been facing criticism for not attending a single session this year.
Hamid Ansari had already issued a clean chit to both of them over the row created by some Rajya Sabha memberson Friday. Mr. Ansari conveyed no violation of constitutional provision from Sachin and Rekha, as they have not been absent for more than 60 days.
Sachin Tendulkar, 41, was nominated to Rajya Sabha in 2012. He made three appearances to the upper house last year while he is yet to make his appearance this year.
Meanwhile, Rajya Sabha was adjourned twice during Question Hour today as Congress created uproar saying there were inconsistencies in government statements on WTO though Finance Minister Arun Jaitley asserted there was no contradiction.
