Salary Hike for MLAs and MLCs Soon

mla-mlcsChief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao expressed his willingness to hike the salary of legislators in the state, in a meeting with senior officials. The salary would be advanced to Rs. 2 Lakh per month to 120 MLAs and 40 MLCs in the state if the proposal is adopted.

The only barrier in the move is the burden on budget. It would cost Rs. 30 Crore extra to the state every year. However, TRS feels that it is just 0.14 per cent of the total annual budget.

K Chandrasekhara Rao also proposed hike in the pension for former MLAs and MLCs. KCR also sought adequate allowances to all the legislators in the state.
