The US presidential race is taking curious turns day by day. Hillary Clinton, who has been ahead of her rivals in Democratic camp till now suffered biggest defeat at the hands of Bernie Sanders in Michigan primary. The shock victory – 49.9%-48.2% with 99.3% reporting – comes despite Sanders trailing the former secretary of state by an average of 21 points in recent opinion polling. Opposing free trade deals appear to have worked in his favour. Although Michigan has 130 delegates, the second largest, Clinton’s landslide victory ( 82%-16%) in Mississippi put her still ahead.
