Sardar Patel merged Hyd with India: Rajnath Singh

ev6Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh was in Hyderabad on Friday to flag off the ‘Run For Unity’ and to participate in the passing out parade of Indian Police Service Officers at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy. Addressing on the occasion, Mr Singh said that Hyderabad was merged into India after the efforts of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. “: If there was no Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Hyderabad State would perhaps not have merged with India”, said Rajnath Singh.
The Centre has decided to celebrate Sardar Patel’s birth anniversary, Oct 31, as a ‘National Unity Day’.
“If one person is to get credit for shaping the geography of India as we see it today, it should go to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel”, Rajnath added.
A unity pledge has been administered by Rajnath Singh to the gathering in both the events. G Kishan Reddy, Bandaru Dattatreya and Krishnam Raju were present.
