SBI selling part of its NPAs for the first time

With over 5.73% of assets of SBI are NPAs, which amount to 67,800 crores. For the first time, SBI is going to sell about 5,000 crore worth of defaulting loans for outside retrievers. By the end of March, SBI hopes to finish the deal to the highest bidders. ARC’s as these companies are called, pay about ten percent in cash and rest would be given as Security Receipts.
