SBI to introduce new unmanned security system at ATMs

SBI Chairperson Arundhati Bhattacharya has said that the banking group is planning to introduce a new electronic surveillance system outside and inside the ATMs, paving way for reducing dependence on manned security system.

As the ATM chain will continue to expand, the need and requirement of security personnel will grow exponentially and the costs associated with them too. Hence this new electronic security system is the best way forward, said the group Chairperson. The new system will have the mechanism to automatically shutdown an ATM if it is under any kind of security threat. The designers of the system have already made their presentations and the system will be employed soon, spreading to most of the Country in the next six months time, said Ms. Bhattacharya.

The employees of SBI group are being offered an Employee Share Option scheme, the proposal is awaiting the government approval. said the chairperson. She was speaking at Thiruvananthpuram today.
